Survivor of widowmaker heart attack. recent ekg presented with nsr with abnormal q segment. what does this mean, can it lead to future heart attack?

Will need f/u: Q segments are typical for old heart attacks. Once there is a heart attack it is important to avoid the next one. Beta blockade, Aspirin and a statin protect you. Plavix (clopidogrel) may also be beneficial. Most importantly, regular doc follow ups are crucial to avoid the next one. Healthy diet and exercise increase the odds also.

EKG from old mi: Q waves emanate from changes of old infarct. Likely stable - compare with post infarct ekg to be sure.
