A member asked:

When does hiv fungus occur?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

HIV: There is no such thing as HIV fungus. Hiv is a virus that attacks our immune system. When the immune system is badly impaired it makes us susceptible to many types of infections and cancers that we would not otherwise get (opportunistic). Among these are fungal infections, on of the most common of which is cryptococcus neoformans which can produce meningitis as well as generalized disease.
