Does not have to be: Candida is a typical infection that happen in many women. Having HIV puts one at higher risk. If you have risk factors for HIV then you should get tested.

Pap smear: You cannot tell by a pap smear if you have hiv. If you are at risk for hiv, ask your doctor to get a blood test to look for hiv.
