My complex 19mo old has a low wbc for a year now neutriphils are sometimes very low sometimes just normal but overall wbc is always 1.4-3.2 any ideas?

Low wbc count: Low WBC count in children can present a diagnostic dilemma. It may be a benign condition or it may an auto immune disease. From what you write it seems to be a benign condition. In any case i hope he is under the care of a pediatric hematologist.

Multiple factors.: Very complicated medical history with multiple causes for neurtropenia, decreased wbcs. Many medications used in treatment of illnesses can cause neutropenia.Liver failure and increased liver enzymes associated. Hypothyroidism in adults can cause neutropenia.Bone marrow biopsy may show cause, sometimes underproduction by marrow and sometimes overdestroying of white blood cells. Certain syndromes.
