Swollen lymph nodes: Swollen lymph nodes do not increase your risk of cancer, and while swollen nodes may be a sign of a cancerous process, there are many benign causes as well. For instance, many acute and chronic infections can lead to lymph node enlargement. Autoimmune type conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus can cause enlarged lymph nodes as well.
