Increased risk: Lymph nodes are where the body's immune cells congregate to gobble up all the nasty stuff in your body. Infections are the most common thing they go after. If a lymph node is swollen from fighting off an infection, it should clear up in about four weeks. If not, there is an increased chance that it may be cancerous. Your doctor can remove all or part of it (biopsy) to check for this.
