All diet plans taper: When you start, you have more to lose. After a few weeks, less-hence lower weight loss. Also, with time, people "liberalize" their diet, to some extent. I started in 1995. Fifteen pounds first month. The next twelve months, 30 lbs. But i've never regained the weight-going on 18 years! but exercise is also key to encourage a more rapid and continued loss!
