A member asked:

Are there any good ways to prevent the development of hepatitis after the contact with an infected person?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on the...: Type of viral hepatitis and the kind of contact. Vaccinations are available to prevent hepatitis a ( spread usually by contaminated food or water ) and hepatitis b ( spread usually by blood products or sexually). There is no clear preventive vaccine for hepatitis c which spreads like hbv but less efficiently.
