A member asked:

Should i get vaccinated for hepititis a after i have been in contact with an infected person?

The infectious: Period for hepatitis a is before the individual becomes ill with the disease and many people are minimally infectious at the onset of illness. If the HAV infected person had intimate contact with you, was a household contact or prepared food that you ate during the infectious period, you can be immunized for HAV and/or get gamma globulin. The sooner the better.

Might be too late: But always good to be vaccinated in case of future exposures.
