Confused...: A class one malocclusion is in fact a malocclusion. There 3 basic types of malocclusions 1, 2, 3. They refer to the relationship of only the upper and lower molars to one another. If you have a cl 1 malocclusion, your molars are correct in biting but either crowding or some other issue defines the malocclusion. As to shaving off teeth: if part of an orthodontic plan, it can be useful: careful!

Malocclusion: While technically a "mal" occlusion, class 1 is what most dentists and orthodontists strive for. It's the most "normal" occlusion, although a class 1 malocclusion doesnt mean you can't have problems with the bite, tmj, etc. And "shaving" off teeth, no matter how simple or logical it sounds, is irreversible and can make things worse, not better. A complete dental/orthodontic exam is best.

Teeth are dynamic : And there is always some degree of micro-movement which causes drifting, shifting, rotation, malalignment of some sort over time. An evaluation with an orthodontist would be prudent to see if minor correction, retainers or enameloplasty is indicated. Hope this helps and thanks for the question.
