Since the EMG results do not well correlate with minor MRI wear and tear findings, perhaps there is a need for a second opinion. Suggest finding a neurologist who focuses on neuromuscular disorders.

I recently had an abnormal EMG showing MODERATELY SEVERE, CHRONIC L5 POLYRADICULPATHIES BILATERALLY; but normal NCS after suffering L4-5 & L5-S1 disc herniations almost 4 years ago. Why would the EMG be abnormal, but NCS be normal?
