My daughter (2yrs) had to get a catheter at the emergency room and ever since has been saying it hurts down there what could it be and how serious . her pediatrician say shes fine but something has to be wrong , she has never said that before?

catheter can cause irritation in the area and usually gets better in a few days. If not the area should be examined carefully. good luck

I always believe it when a kid that age say it hurts. The procedure may have triggered some irritation that has not self healed. At this point I would consider using a simple 1% hydrocortisone cream applied to her pee outlet 2x/day and not bathing her in a tub of soapy water (that can get inside & irritate). Tub showers/ no soap on genitals & time should help this fade.
