My fam dr is away so i saw another doctor in regards to nodule in neck.this dr suggested i get a ultrasound & thyroid blood work since my sister has thyroid disease.is it possible for thyroid just to be swollen& i don't have thyroid issue or cancer?

You probably have a thyroid issue, how serious it is the work up as ordered should help in determining. Majority of times such findings are benign or not cancer related.
