I have a swollen lower eyelid. it's slightly puffy red, itchy. hurts to blink. no pink eye, no discharge. i'm thinking it's a chalazion. how long should i do home remedies before i go to the eye doctor to get assest?

Yes, it could be chalazion or stye. Chalazion is usually on the upper lid. Yes, you just do the home remedies and if symptoms are not subsided within 5-7 days then you should see an ophthalmologist who will drain the cyst with local anesthetic. Remember if the inflammation comes down by itself, the cyst may be still there without symptom. Good luck.
