A member asked:

My son has been congested holding his head for about 2 weeks. been to ped and ent, he is on saline, flonase, and singulair (flonase added 2 days ago), with no relief. should i have imaging done at this point to rule out something more serious?

It is not clear what you would expect imaging to show beyond what is obvious on exam. Kids at 1 yr of age have large tonsils & adenoids relative to adults and their sinuses are poorly developed & often difficult to interpret on imaging. This makes congestion from self healing viruses/irritants or allergies common. It takes a week for nasal steroids to make much difference.
