What does it mean if you are a diabetic with trace ketones ? does that mean the metformin isnt working ?

It depends where are the ketones. Trace ketones in the urine is not important but if they are detected in blood and blood sugar is also high at the same time then metformin alone is not enough but it does not mean metformin is ineffective. Take care.
