I have diabetes and currently taking metformin. the metformin is not working like it use to. what are some other drugs i can bring up to my doctor.

Best to talk : To your pcp . He will lay out medications available that best suits your needs in controlling your diabetes based on your medical history. Cannot just pick one without considering co- morbidities and side effects. Set your goals and follow them. Check your sugar regularly and mind your diet to enjoy a healthier life !

Depends: Depends on your a1c. If its over 9.0 you need insulin. Less than 9.0 consider Invokana or victoza (liraglutide) in combination with metformin. Have doctor check a gad antibody to see if you have lada in which case you will need insulin.
