PCOS is not diabetes: In pcos we see obesity and a condition known as metabolic syndrome. In a way it is also to prevent diabetes by reducing weight . We use metformin for treatment of metabolic syndrome related liver condition called nafld( non alcoholic fatty liver disease ).
