Sometimes, splitting the dose and taking it twice daily is more effective as sometimes the medicine isn’t lasting a full 24 hours. This is worth trying prior to increasing the whole dose. A home blood pressure monitor will help-take your blood pressure at home at different times in the day to see if your blood pressure is getting better with this change. Good luck to you!

The timing and the dosage depends on your doc's judgement and the response after treatment. So pl let her/hin decide and explain the reasons to you

When losartan was first released as a once daily long acting medication I prescribed it a lot. In a substantial number of patients I had to change the dose to every 12 hours to achieve blood pressure control. The subsequently released angiotensin receptor blockers are more effective as once a day antihypertensive medications.
