I had an x-ray at at ortho urgent care & was told i have cervical radiculopathy. i had an mri last week & this week i have my 1st pain management appt. what can i expect at this appt? if needed, will a cortisone injection be given?

Most of the time, physical therapy +/- analgesic will be recommended first. Steroid injection will be the next step if conservative management fails and surgical approach is the last option. Good luck.

Appears from your description that surgery is not an imminent option and conservative intervention is to start. Specific indications for neck injections are available, and an epidural steroid injection should be avoided if a clearcut radicular compression is not demonstrated.
