Elevated polyclonal IgA may be present in many conditions and its contribution to the diagnosis is not as significant as monoclonal IgA gammopathy. Results of free light chains are insignificant. I may ask what the indication for SPEP and IFE in your case is. Take care.

Gave plasma, leading to tests (cbc, SPEP, immunofixation, FLC). Waiting for hemo consult. Have high IGA (7.09g/l) but low IGG (3.05) &low IGM(.15). Monoclonal IGA type lambda found (8.5mg/l), lambda=33.4mg/l, but LC ratio ok. Am I immune compromised?
Kappa/lambda FLC ratio high (2.75) w/ normal K(10.21mg/dl) & low L(3.68mg/dl). Hem-onc unsure if ratio implies K monoclonality since serum/urine IFE ok & neither chain is elevated. Could monoclonal K be suppressing L? IgA a bit high IgG &IgM a bitlow

Is elevated kappa/lambda ratio on serum FLC test inherently monoclonal, even if neither kappa or lambda is elevated? Ratio high b/c lambda is low, not because of high kappa. SPEP/UPEP & IFE normal. High IgA, low IgG. Clean marrow biopsy. Polyclonal?
Hema repeated bloodwork after monoclonal IGA lambda found. In one month, m-protein went from 8.5 g/l to 11.4. Is this jump significant? Other values remain out of range with IGA high & IGG, IGM low. Low gamma as well. CBC values ok and no BenceJones?
