I have reflux esophogitis. i was told to take ppi and pepcid ac both once a day. after about five weeks, my dr took me off of pepcid ac. i have had very mild reflux symptoms. not very noticeable but still was wondering why? i am still on the ppi?

If symptom gets worse you may need a higher dose of PPI. Most often, we use high dose of PPI first and Pepcid can be added if monotherapy fails to control the symptom. Your symptom is mild so you should just observe for now with the same PPI dose and do not forget practicing anti-reflux measures. Good luck.
