PPI vs H2 block: Long standing reflux can be pre malignant and requires formal evaluation ;management must include hygienic intervention such as avoidance of late food ;caffeine etc as well as medicines under physician supervision

The poi and acid blo: None of these medications were meant to be used long term. If you have an underlying chronic and potentially dangerous diagnosis like Barrett's esophagus then you are obligated to take these medications long term. Otherwise. Change your lifestyle and get off the medication. Eat healthy drink water and exercise

PPIs: Pepcid (famotidine) is a type of PPI. Talk w/your doc about avoiding all PPIs. Consider taking a type of licorice tablet that has a enzyme removed. The natural product is called DGL and found in health food stores. (Regular licorice can raise blood pressure eventually.). You need a lot of it but it works for many people. Peace and good health.
