Is 20 mg prilosec once daily for 3 months enough to cure lower third esophagus of grade b reflux esophagitis with focal surface erosion? and how serious is this diagnosis? is this a severe erosion?

I think you have moderate esophagitis but I don't think 20 mgs per day of omeprazole is sufficient for healing. If your gastroenterologist agrees you could take it twice a day for 4 weeks or switch to a stronger PPI.

Seeing as i take prilosec daily for my GERD(and now i NEVER get acid reflux) this should prevent my gerd from ever developing to barretts esophagus?
May I temporarily substitute omeprazole 20mg dr in place of dexilant 30mg? I am taking it to prevent recurring erosive esophagitis. I just plan to take it for one month until I can switch back to the Dexilant.
