Hi, i have done 2 seperate fob tests. the first 3 one was positive and the second test all 3 were negative. i have hemerrhoids. i dont have any other symptoms. loose stools everyday, go regularly once a day. no change in habit. anything serious?

Occult blood test is not a sensitive test so when one test is positive, the presence of blood in stool is confirmed. If you do not have active hemorrhoid bleeding, we can't blame the positive test to the hemorrhoid. Most of the time, people with positive FOB test are asymptomatic. So your doctor has to decide if you need further investigation such as colonoscopy or virtual colonoscopy. Good luck.

Had some stool testing. The fecal occult test in office was positive, but the fecal occult that was sent to the lab came back negative. Doc said she thought it might be a hemorrhoid & didn't seem concerned. Not sure if I should be concern or not.
