The ESR and CRP detect inflammation in the body. We interpret them based on a patient’s symptoms. The best way for you to understand them is to talk to your rheumatologist or primary care physician.

Esr and CRP are nonspecific inflammation biomarkers that have to be always interpreted in clinical context. RF and ANA are more specific to autoimmune diseases and have to be interpreted cautiously as well.
