Normal result, no evidence of bladder cancer. "What now?" He should follow his doctor's advice if he has urinary or bladder symptoms, but no need to worry about cancer.

Depends on the initial reason for ordering this test. The test shows no cancer cells. If there was a urologic reason he MUST see a urologist. Doc not saying much about an ordered test is not acceptable. You must always ask questions about the findings, tests and treatments ordered and the reasons for them at every visit. Pl have him do so. Good luck

Depending if he has lower urinary tract symptoms or microscopic hematuria I would recommend a cydtiscopy. A negative cytology doesn’t rule out a low grade bladder tumor or other bladder issue.
