A member asked:

Hello doctors. why did my urology pathology cytology report indicate that there were urothelial & squamous cells present? it also says negative for urothelial carcinoma?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Because they are normal and were found. The reviewing doctor comments on anything they see. If they look at a specimen and post a report as "normal", the referring doc will fuss at them. It also confirms the specimen obtained was from the proper source.
