Emergency small bowel resection due to an obstruction is a serious surgery which takes a while to recover from. You should not expect your bowels to be working properly yet. Are you still on IV fluids? That could explain the frequent urination. Your doctor will gradually increase your diet as your bowels come around. Hang in there. Most of the worst is likely behind you. Good luck.

You can have frequency of urine for a few days after removal of catheter. Re when you can eat and what kind of food and pain you should check with the surgeon
