Cut pain meds: Constipation and difficulty urinating are side effects of pain medication. If you can take tylenol or aspirin for pain instead of an opiate (percocet, vicodin, vicoprofen, tylenol with codeine, tylox, etc) you will be better off. It is not unusual to go a week before having a BM while on pain meds, might try Milk of Magnesia as a laxative.
