If this is a sliding hiatal hernia symptoms could be heartburn and/ or regurgitation,worse on reclining or bearing down or feeling full soon after meals. If part of the hernia is stuck in the chest, chest pains,vomiting,and sense of difficulty swallowing can occur.

Most hiatal hernias, even large ones, are asymptomatic. If they do cause symptoms, they usually manifest as acid reflux, which can usually be controlled with acid reducing medications and anti-reflux measures. See your gastroenterologist if your symptoms are not under control. Good luck.
