I finished taking levaquin 750mg once a day for 10 days to treat bacterial sinusitis. it started helping at first but then stopped. my doctor will prescribe cipro 500mg taken twice a day for 10 days because it has always worked for me?

I doubt it. Levaquin is more appropriate than cipro when a quinolone is prescribed for bacterial sinusitis. Their covered spectrum is almost the same but levaquin is probably for gram positive bacteria and cipro for negative bacteria. Prolonged course or repeated course of quinolone should be avoided unless absolutely indicated. Good luck!
