A member asked:

Male, twenties, i was diagnosed with sibo. i took a course of antibiotics, they did not work. only a low carb diet works to manage symptoms, chicken breast, eggs, egg white, ketchup, coffee. please help, any recommendations? this is ruining my life?

The gold-standard treatment for SIBO is still antibiotics. There have been research studies that tried to establish a dietary link for SIBO, but there were a number of issues with those studies. Ultimately, there is currently not enough scientific evidence (as of 2022) to suggest specific dietary modifications as a treatment for SIBO. Furthermore, recurrence of SIBO is common.
