A member asked:

How long do swelling and stiffness typically last after a splint has been removed, such as one used after hand/finger surgery?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Forearm and hand surgery of any kind will usually cause swelling in the lower arm and hand, caused by compression of the limb during sleep position. This should resolve in a week or two. See your surgeon for an exam to make certain there is no infection.
