I have prominent lateral ventricles for my age on mri, short term memory problems, and was diagnosed with bfs. is their any likely condition these things could be caused by?

Have no clue what BFS means, and you provide no information about the reason for MRI, other than "memory problems". Your images could be congenital, or secondary to dehydration. Your memory issues could be due to a learning disorder, vitamin deficiency, medication side effects, depression, use of recreational drugs, thyroid issues, etc. Discuss these issues with your doctor.
