Not bowel cancer, but inflammatory bowel disease is characterized by.very high fecal calprotectin. The calprotectin levels may decrease with improvement in the intestinal inflammation & sometimes colonoscopy findings may be sparse or absent during that period. Your gastroenterologist will advise you.
