Good afternoon doctors. how long does it typically take to progress from stage 2 or stage 3 ckd to needing dialysis? can progressing to dialysis be at all avoided, and if so, how could one avoid dialysis?

Depending upon the underlying Kidney disease, the progression to stage IV or higher can be slowed down or even avoided. Progression of diabetic nephropathy, for an instance, can be slowed down by good diabetes control.
