A member asked:

Does eating eggs cause cholesterol to go up . in the last year i ate more eggs and my cholesterol went up. is it better for me just to eat the white of the egg because the yellow is loaded more with cholesterol?

Yes, egg yolk has high cholesterol. One large egg has about 186 mg of cholesterol — all of which is found in the yolk. For people with high cholesterol, total cholesterol intake should be less than 300 mg/day. You can eat the white part which has good protein but almost no cholesterol.

Agree with Dr. Le. In addition to limiting your intake of egg yolks, you should curtail your intake of saturated fats. If you are overweight, losing weight would be helpful. Wish you good health!
