It depends on the kidney pathology and what needs to be monitored in the urine. Give example: if you have mild diabetic kidney disease and you are treated for that, nephrologist may check your urine albumin/creatinine every three months until the albumunuria is under control. However, if you have mild CKD due to hypertension or some other causes with an normal UA, urine test can be done annually.
