39 yr asian female having cystic acne breakout same places 1 nodule either side of face every 3 months.worry scaring had steriod injection caused dent, antibiotics no help. would accutane be bit too much in my case as i don't have it all over face ?

Acne at 39 indicates hormonal imbalances. Diets high in simple carbs/sugars can contribute, as can weight gain. Wash your face no more than twice a day, use a mild soap. apply acne treatments only to problem spots, not your whole face. A dermatologist may prescribe spironolactone or a low dose antibiotic. Avoid picking at/squeezing pimples and maintain good hygiene incl. washing pillowcases/towels
