Last august my dentist found a caries on a molar. she extracted the damaged parts, that looked creamy, and sealed it. she used anesthesia cause the drilling was painful. now, the molar hurts, especially when i eat or drink hot and cold stuff. advice?

It is important to follow up with your dentist. They have xrays that they can compare to and know what your tooth was like before, during and immediately after the procedure. They can tell is there is anything that has changed to cause this sensitivity.

It sounds like your Dentist did root canal treatment. The Tooth may have required a cap rather than just sealing it. See your Dentist for evaluation. Referral to an Endodontist, a root canal specialist, may be advisable.

The molar may need a root canal due to the proximity of the nerve to the cavity. The molar may also need an occlusal adjustment to have a better stabilized occlusion. Take antibiotics (Keflex or Clindamycin) and steroid (medrol dosepak). If pain does not resolve, irreversible pulpitis is a definitive diagnosis and root canal is a treatment of choice.
