Laser or sandblast: But not as effective as dental drill.

Options to consider: The dental drills used in most offices are the most efficient way to remove decay. There are some lasers that have been developed recently but their indications are limited. They are also, unfortunately, cost prohibitive so most dental practices will not have them available. There has been an effort to dissolve decayed tooth structure with chemical agents, but again, their use is limited.

Laser: If the dentist has a special laser decay can be removed with it. Ask your dentist about this particular type of treatment as not all cavities can be fixed using the laser.
