My husband, 42 has a leaky heart valve. i made him go to cardiologist because his great uncles had heart problems (but they were more related to plaque build up it seemed). is this serious? can you live full life expectancy? im terrified?

Yes, these are different conditions leaky valve and plaque buildup, however patients can have both. You did the right thing by having your husband see cardiologist as that should bring peace of mind and a good plan going forward.
