A member asked:

Are there any specific blood tests which could provide further insight following a low platelet test result? to help identify areas of deficiency in diet, or perhaps an excess level in nutritional areas known to adversely affect platelet production?

You get the most from this site when you provide detailed information about the issue. Here you do not provide the platelet count or when or why you call it low. Platelets are created daily in large numbers. Low counts are usually not a reflection of any dietary issue. You are welcome to start over.

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, it would have helped had you provided the actual result. Low count may not be meaningfully low. Wish you good health!
