I had a bad viral infection which caused my wbc and platelet level to decrease (wbc 2.5 and platelets 112). a few days later they repeated the blood test and wbc normalized but platelets still low (120). will the platelets eventually go back up?

It is very likely that your platelets will be back to normal within the next few weeks. I would advise you to follow up with your doctor one more time to assess.

Very likely Your platelet count is a bit lower than normal level, however, you are not in a danger to bleed. Rechecking blood counts in 2 weeks is advisable.
