My lymph nodes and tonsils became tender/swollen about a month and a half ago. i was given augmentin to help reduce swelling and treat an infection if i had one. the antibiotic did not help. i have a history of mono (about 12 years ago)?

Augmentin should eradicate a strep infection. Since your symptoms persist a viral infection is likely. A second bout of mono is rare but can occur. I recommend a throat culture& sensitivity, mono test & a cbc& differential white blood cell count or you could consult an ENT specialist & let him/her order the appropriate testing and advise you.
