Probably.: If your eyelid continues to swell, especially if the eye becomes red you would need to be re-evaluated to rule out an orbital cellulitis. There are bacteria that can be resistant to Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) and if the condition continues to progress the antibiotic may need to be switched. Worst case scenario is an orbital cellulitis requiring intravenous antibiotics.

Soon: It appears that you have been given the right antibiotic regimen for the problem. It takes time for the medicine to work. Make sure the full course of Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) is taken. Ibuprofen and perhaps warm compresses will aid in comfort. If symptoms do not abate, see md again, and perhaps a culture and sensitivity test can be done to find a more targeted antibiotic regimen. Good luck!
