A member asked:

Is there a way to diagnose a retinal tear, hole, or detachment at home? i understand that i need to see an opthomalogist for an eye exam, but are there any warning signs that i can look out for?

Significant increase in floaters and seeing flashes of light are the common symptoms. Visual defect is one sign of retina problem. You can check your visual field of each eye to compare. You can google "how to do a visual field check?". A friend can help you for this test. Good luck with your formal ophthalmologic exam.
