40, male. light smoker (1 cig/day) small 3-4mm sore on upper, inner left gum/palate. initially result of cut while eating potato chips, but slow to heal. more than two weeks now. round shape, rolled, white edges. need advice. how worried should i be?

Any lesion that doesn't heal on its own within two weeks should be evaluated. It may be nothing to worry about but until it is examined and possibly biopsied if deemed suspicious we won't know. Please see an oral surgeon for an evaluation.
