Hello! i had a tb in hs, & currently processing my peme, our company doctor advised me to have a pulmonologist clearance. one of the tests is an afb smear and the result indicated 'no acid fast bacilli seen'. can anyone explain this, please?

There is open pulmonary tuberculosis and you are not posing any danger to people around you. It does not entirely exclude tuberculosis, just that you are not contagious, if you have it. Visit this site for info: https://www.cdc.gov/tb/publications/factsheets/testing/diagnosis.htm

Your test was negative for bacteria (not present) and that is likely to result in being cleared for employment providing all other tests remained negative.
